Many-Qudit Representation for the Travelling Salesman Problem Optimisation

نویسندگان

چکیده

We present a map from the travelling salesman problem (TSP), prototypical NP-complete combinatorial optimisation task, to ground state associated with system of many-qudits. Conventionally, TSP is cast into quadratic unconstrained binary (QUBO) problem, that can be solved on an Ising machine. The size corresponding physical system's Hilbert space $2^{N^2}$, where $N$ number cities considered in TSP. Our proposal provides many-qudit dimension $2^{N\log_2N}$, which considerably smaller than resulting usual QUBO map. This reduction yield significant speedup quantum and classical computers. simulate validate our using variational Monte Carlo neural state, solving linear layout for up almost 100 cities.

Ant colonies for the travelling salesman problem.

We describe an artificial ant colony capable of solving the travelling salesman problem (TSP). Ants of the artificial colony are able to generate successively shorter feasible tours by using information accumulated in the form of a pheromone trail deposited on the edges of the TSP graph. Computer simulations demonstrate that the artificial ant colony is capable of generating good solutions to b...

Accelerating ant colony optimisation for the travelling salesman problem on the GPU

Recent Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) can be used for general purpose parallel computation. Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) approaches have been introduced as nature-inspired heuristics to find good solutions of the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP). In ACO approaches, a number of ants traverse the cities of the TSP to find better solutions of the TSP. The ants randomly select next visiting citi...

The multi-stripe travelling salesman problem

In the classical Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP), the objective function sums the costs for travelling from one city to the next city along the tour. In the q-stripe TSP with [Formula: see text], the objective function sums the costs for travelling from one city to each of the next q cities in the tour. The resulting q-stripe TSP generalizes the TSP and forms a special case of the quadratic a...

A Marriage in Honey Bee Optimisation Approach to the Asymmetric Travelling Salesman Problem

In the travelling salesman problem (TSP), a travelling salesman completes a tour of “n” number of cities by stopping once in each city and completes the tour by returning to his starting point, while minimizing the distance and the cost. The asymmetric travelling salesman problem (ATSP) is the problem in which the cost of travel from city A to B is different from that from B to A. Marriage in H...

The Accumulated Experience Ant Colony for the Travelling Salesman Problem

Ant colony optimisation techniques are usually guided by pheromone and heuristic cost information when choosing the next element to add to a solution. However, while an individual element may be attractive, usually its long term consequences are neither known nor considered. For instance, a short link in a TSP may be incorporated into an ant’s solution, yet, as a consequence of this link, the r...
